Like Jesus

I am stoked about the new series I am launching this weekend at Riv. It’s called “Like Jesus” and we are looking at several of the areas where it is very difficult to be like Jesus. Please be praying for several things:
1) That I will not be too jet-lagged. I don’t head home from San Diego until tonight and I arrive in the wee hours tomorrow.
2) For the right people to be at the services. We always have an ebb and flow of people throughout the year. Pray that those who need to hear these messages will make it to the services.
3) Pray that people will be able to hear, understand, and move based on the challenges we will get from the Word.
4) In that vein, pray that God will work in spite of me and all my short-comings.
Thanks and we’ll see you this weekend!

Noel,
Prayers going forth…God wants to move in our lives…thanks for your dedication to the Saints, your service and your sacrifice. We grow complacent far too easily. May God stir, heat up and skim the dross off from our lives. May God bless you and yours abundantly and use your short-comings to reach His people. Father…we all need You to deal specifically with us…fortify Noel as he prepares the word we need to hear.

Won’t be there this weekend due to primal desire to eat horned ungulates. Will tune in via rivchurch.com later! May God move people through the words he inspires you with.

regarding your Submit Like Jesus message. I am watching Greys Anatomy on Hulu and the episode before last Invest In Love is big on rebelling authority…a resident rebels against the attending and an attending rebels against the chief of surgery. The resident/attending clash was due to the resident Cristina want to perform a cardio procedure she has done once but isn’t qualified to do. At first I thought I would get the typical, wow you went over my authority but way to go sport from the attending (who also happens to be her boyfriend) but instead he got very upset and told her it was just luck that the girl didn’t die and her luck would run out eventually and that there are rules in place for a reason…anyway thought the episode was fitting if you needed a video feed for service the ticker count was 27:11 into the episode for the spat. Loved the service by the way, sometimes they sting but definitely needed to hear it:)
