By the time you read this, I will officially be on vacation for two weeks. That means this blog will be on vacation as well.
My family deserves my undivided attention.
I’ll be back (hopefully with a vengeance) on August 1, when I launch my next series at Riverview. We’ll see you there!

I am taking off to an undisclosed location for the next two days. I won’t have access to the internet or TV (my two great distractions). I also understand cell coverage is spotty, so my iPhone (third great distraction) may be out of commission as well.
Here are my goals for the time:
1) Finish the final version of my book proposal.
2) Finish the first teaching of my next series so I can go on vacation for the rest of the month.
3) Pray and read the Word, especially those passages I am teaching from next.
I can’t tell you how much your prayers mean to me!

Back 2 Back Ministries

This past week, I travelled with a team from Riverview to Monterrey Mexico to work with an organization called Back 2 Back Ministries. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to connect with many ministries in the world and I can say that B2B is one of the best!
The main focus of their work in Mexico is with 10 homes that house and care for over 500 orphans. They also work with squatter communities like the one I am pictured in above.
What an amazing experience. One day you may be in a home playing with a few orphans who have no personal possessions (so they treasure the smallest piece of paper or crayon you can give them) and the next you are repairing a water line providing dozens of children with clean water.
I was talking with a man at the compound one day and he told me his amazing story. He began as one of those orphans and now he has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and he is fluent in 5 languages! B2B doesn’t just lay out empty promises: they are an organization that is making it happen.
That’s why I am so stoked that Riverview is going to get more and more involved with them. This year, we sent two teams down and we have two interns working in their new project in Nigeria for the summer. If you are part of our church fam, I would highly encourage you to take a week from your busy life this next year to head down with one of our times. Trust me on this…you’ll never be the same.

We just dove into the book of 1 Thessalonians today in our Text project. Sorry about the delay in posting the video, but I have a decent excuse: I’ve been out of the country. More on that tomorrow, though.
Mexico

Tomorrow at 2:30am (yes you read that correctly), I head to Monterrey, Mexico with a team from Riv. We will be working with Back2Back Ministries, an awesome organization we have been developing a relationship with the past few years.
Please pray for the following:
- Our group’s unity and teamwork.
- The orphans we will be meeting / hanging with.
- Health and safety for our team as we travel and work.
- That our hearts would be broadened to have a worldwide vision for Jesus.
- Gospel opportunities.
I will try my best to blog / post pictures from Monterrey, but I am not sure how much internet access I will have. I won’t be Twittering much because my wireless charges will kill me.
