If you would like to upload a video comment, it’s pretty simple. Head to Facebook and click on “add video” on my profile page. Of course you have to have a Facebook account and we have to be friends, but I’m sure both of those things are true.
UPDATE: Even if you don’t have a webcam, I would like your thoughts. Just post a text comment here.

“Social justice without the Gospel is no different than the Peace Corp.”
Churches fall into a few camps:
1) Apathetic toward their city
2) Animosity toward their city
3) Imitating their city
4) For the city

“We’ve got great plans to engage culture but nobody has a plan ‘what then?’ We have no battle plan for progressive sanctification.”
“You need a programatic plan for discipleship but you need to look at what are you producing in the end.”
“Define the win and be tenacious about it.”
“It’s easy to draw a crowd but it’s hard to do something with them.”

“Tim Keller is like Johnny Cash. Everyone rips him off and no one gives him credit.”
“Your ministry hangs on your apprehension and application of the Gospel in your own life. You have to understand that you are a sinner and you are accepted. It humbles you toward those you want to reach in your city. If you don’t get this you won’t last long term.”
“If you aren’t in touch with your sin, pride will get you. If you aren’t in touch with your acceptance, you’ll beat yourself up.”
“God is going to use you largely in spite of you.”

“Your plans sometimes trump God’s plans. We put the Holy Spirit out of the equation.”

“The church is exploding, but just not here.”
“The best thing you can do is travel to the other side of the world, find a pastor, sit down, shut up, and listen. Then come joke and do what they said.”
“I’m from Texas. If the Father doesn’t know when to send Jesus back, he should just ask us. We have the best charts.”
I really like Bob Roberts.

“Leadership is about managing tensions, not solving problems. It’s not about balance.”
“Some of us are wired to be rockstars and some us are wired to be turtles. We need both to be innovative.”
“Innovation works best in teams. You are holding back your church if you don’t use teams in your leadership strategy.”
“If you don’t know what your spiritual gifts are, just wait. When someone comes in the room and uses your gift better than you and you feel jealous, you know what your gift is.”
“We’ve for to allow for divergence before we move to convergence.”

“In my denomination, if the 50s come back, we are ready to go.”
“Who could have predicted that having an openly gay bishop at the Inaugeration would not be controversial, but having an evangelical pastor would be?”

Matt Chandler’s message is essential for anyone who wants to be a leader or pastor. Super challenging stuff.
Someone find a link to it and post it in the comments. If no one can find it, I’ll post it later. I can’t type fast enough to get it down. Here are some teasers:
“I don’t care how you contextualize the message – you can’t make it so that the Gospel will not be the stench of death to some.”
“I like topical messages as long as they are done properly…exegetically.”
“There are too many retarded men out there and I mean that in the literal sense. You started out growing in your relationship with God and stopped.”
