I started to read The Shack once you posted your thoughts on the book. I'm finally finished with it and I can't decide if it's heretical or just poorly written. Perhaps both.

Have I mentioned that I'm jaded and cynical?

I just finished reading The Shack. I did enjoy it and I was really getting into the book, but after a while it got...I don't know....annoying. I felt like my arm was being twisted by the author's particular opinions. Especially in the afterword, talking about the "The Missy Project", about giving the book away to friends and strangers, writing a book review for the local newspaper, writing about it in your blog or website, displaying the books at your shop or business, sending sets of books to prisons, shelters, ect. I felt like it was all about the book instead of our relationship with God - almost cultish (is that a word?) Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age.
