Why do you attend Riverview?

I just read an interesting post on the top reasons people attend one church over another.

It made we wonder why people go to Riverview.

So, I would like to take my own unscientific poll here, and this is especially for those of you who go to Riverview. Here it goes:

When you are done taking this poll (don’t cheat), jump to this link to see how your answers compare to other churches out there: Top Reasons for Church Attendance.

Feel free to post additional comments, as well.

The “Sensed God’s Presence” option is a weird one, for me at least… thinking about it, it’s quite clear that God’s there and is at work, but I can’t honestly say I sit there each week and think, wow, I really feel the presence of God. It’s entirely possible that I’m usually trying to do too much to notice.

Yeah, that one was weird to me too. I used it because I wanted the options to be the same as the article I was linking to.

Dude! Your results will be different. They are sampling unchurched people, and your sampling churched people.

Try the survey again and ask only people who don’t go to Riverview or any church for that matter to participate.

I’m surprised that Doctrine ranks so high with unchurched people. Makes me wonder what the precise definition of unchurched is.Also, I’m dying to see a laundry list of what people’s “Other Issues” are. OK, I’m not really dying.

Sorry. My inner scientist is kicking real heard right now.

Ignore the first half of that last comment, I went back and scrolled down to see his other results.

    Fools rush in. Enough said.

My reasons for first attending were different than my reasons for continuing to attend.

My wife and I first attended because we were looking for a non- denominational christian church in the willow creek model or association.

We were instantly struck because Riv was a nice hybrid reminding us of the warm qualities of other churches we both had been to in the past. We enjoyed the architecture, the music, and the teachings. Over time we both begin to appreciate the team teaching model and the great bands. I miss riv, hope this helps your pseudo science pole.
