Would this be a bad time to mention that I’m a Penguins fan?
Hi, I'm Noel and I'm a recovering hypocrite. I spend the majority of my time pastoring and teaching at Riverview, surfing the internet on my iPhone, being obsessed with Jack Bauer, and hanging out with my smoking hot wife and four wildly talented children. I plan on spending the rest of my life figuring out how to vicariously plant hundreds of churches without ever leaving my church.
Oh, and even though I work for Riverview, everything here is my personal opinion and nothing more.

I’m shocked. I had absolutely no idea that your were into any sports at all, let alone, hockey, let alone Pittsburgh hockey. How did this come about? I would have thought you far too metrosexual for this! I guess I should learn to judge not.

You’ll have to forgive Noel. He’s not starry-eyed by the string of 100-point seasons in Detroit. Or the favored Red Wings who have a penchant for hoisting the cup (at least when they manage to get past the #8 seed). Or a self-proclaimed “Hockeytown” that can’t quite sellout their arena in round 1 of the ‘07 playoffs.
Noel’s just nostalgic for the glory days, when he attended a Lemieux-dominated playoff game. Five years from now, when the Pens have two or three Stanley Cups, he’ll be somewhat embarrassed — it’s much more chic to cheer for the underdog. But for now, it’ll suffice to pull for the youngest team captain in Stanley Cup finals history … and a team that the fans actually get out of their seats for.
