My response comes from a teaching that Erwin McManus gave last year. Basically, it can be summarized this way:
“No one else is coming.”
If Jesus is who he says he is; if He is the only God; if there is no other way–it is not ego, it’s a statement of reality. He is the only one coming to save you.
Obviously, the conversation would be a lot longer, but this is it in a nutshell. Although, now that I have read your responses, I may take a different approach when Brad and I hang out. You guys are actually kinda smart.

Brad,
This is the very problem you said you don’t UNDERSTAND, SO you are unsure. The reason God says reverence (honor) me is because it shows your faith in him & who he is… He created you, don’t you give honor to your earthly father for giving you life, one of his commandments is him telling you to honor your father & mother. So why wouldn’t you honor the creator of ALL??? Brad, do not be deceived when the time comes & Jesus returns. Every knee will bow & say you are truely Lord as the bible says. You will surely understand then, because of what he did to save us! God is Almighty Father, he sent his only son for you. God gave us a will to honor & love him, he has no ego or it would be forced on us & it isn’t. When we die whether you want to believe in heaven & hell or not these ARE REAL places & eternity is FOREVER & EVER & to be gambling with unbelief IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. I love your humble spirit & I pray you are not deceived any longer because satan is your REAL enemy, he has promised you NOATHING. God has promised you everything through acknowledging his son Jesus & what he did for you & me on the cross. JESUS reconciled us back to God after Adam & Eve were deceived by Satan in the garden. Please read your bible, don’t be deceived by this world & its lies, the bible warns us about this as well. This is exactly what Satan wants you to do, to doubt that Jesus loves you. He does love you & so do I please change the way you are thinking. God only wants us to reverence (honor) him for he is truely our creator & he is worthy to be praise, he created the earth you live in & gave you life! And he sent his only son to die for us. Please give this a second thought because out of ALL the religions out there, he is the ONLY ONE promising us anything as far as blessings which I have an abundance of! or after death to live & reign with him & Jesus in a new heaven & earth. God bless you & your family.
