.:mood:. Thinking a lot
.:podcast:. Coverville 366: Someone left the request show out in the rain by Brian Ibbott
[UPDATE: Some of you were having trouble voting. It should work better now.]
OK, the comments and votes were very helpful (regarding my new site).
Now, I want to present another wrinkle: to be honest I have never liked the phrase “razor’s edge” because it seems at best played out or at worst cheesy. Let me know if you agree with this assessment. The weird thing is a lot of people resonated with the idea.
Is there a different way to say what I am thinking? If so, please post it here.
Assuming for a second that we keep the “Razor” concept, here is a new poll based on the top vote getters and another couple ideas from the comments:

I agree. I think it is kinda on the um…cheesy or played out side. I mean Razor…everyone has one now…as in phone. Its no longer the cool hip thing. Would it loose some meaning or just passed off, perhaps. Not that what your talking about is a phone, etc. But thats what I thought of, or a shaving thing. Just my thoughts.
How about iRazor.com LOL. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

As someone who shaves with a straight razor, I still respect the word “razor.” I think it’s a great illustration, whichever URL you end up going with.
You should start shaving with an old school safety razor or straight razor to provide some introductory stories and illustrations for the book. I guarantee you’ll end up with some doozies.

The Razor’s Edge was a mediocre AC/DC album, you should keep that in mind.

When I think of Razor’s Edge I think of burned out AC/DC, powder cocaine, and the cell phone. I didn’t hear the your teaching series, but that is what i think…

When I heard the phrase in the context of your teaching, it really made sense to me. It is something I’ve come back to over and over again, and I think your phrase helped me to remember the concept well. Cheesy maybe to some, but it was really effective for me. But if you can think of another way to represent the idea, I’m sure that would be fine too. It’s the whole idea behind it that really got to me.

Razor’s Edge is also a book: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Razor’s_Edge
…and a movie with Bill Murray.
But I still like the name, and I can’t really think of a phrase that would have the same meaning you’re trying to convey. Maybe you should call it Walk the Line:)

Lol..still chuckling at Ken Bucks assessment!
The word Razor has many connotations to many people: Old Spice, blood, smooth skin, drug-induced stupor, violence, and more.
Noel, you just gotta go with your gut on this because you just know you’ll never connect with ALL of us.
If you’re thinking catch/buzz phrase to “BRAND” your product…be sure to apply the K.I.S.S. principle. Think long-term, too. You never know if this will branch out into T-shirts, rubber wristies, etc!
Why not get the RIV bands to write and compose a song, too? Uh Oh…looks like I’ve compounded your creative quandary…is that why they call it “Creeping Elegance?”
Go with your gut!

Maybe the phrase “in or out for God” is a another way of saying what you’re thinking
