I Need Your Help!

Total Eclipse of the Heart by Air Supply

I need your help and it’s not because I’m listening to Air Supply right now.

I have been working on a side project for awhile now and I’m kinda stuck.

A year or so ago, I did a series on living a “Razor’s Edge” faith at Riverview. I got so much response from the messages that I’ve decided to write a book on the topic. At the same time, I want to start more intentionally blogging and podcasting on the same theme.

NoelHeikkinen.com will remain the same, but I want to start another site to go along with the book. I am stuck at the most simple of places: a Domain Name for the website.

So, here are the two things I could use help with.

First, if you like one of these names, please vote for it.

polls What should I name my new site?
therazorlife.com
razorlife.net
razoredge.net
razorchurch.com
razorchristian.com
razorchristianity.com

Second, if you don’t like any of these names, please go here and try to find me one that is available. If you find one that you like, post a comment with your idea.

I can’t promise this will be a democracy, but since I suspect y’all will be the first to hit my new site, I figured you were the best people to help me.

Thanks!

    Here’s another one…razorculture.com

  2. Jack Says:

    I like the 1st one.

And, a little Air Supply never killed anyone…

  3. Lisa Says:

You should stick with one of the last three–the first three are “grabbing,” but on second thought remind me of the trend of cutting (a danger with anything with the word “razor”). This might not be a problem–I mean, people into cutting may come across the site and be changed–but that *is* an association people might make.

    razorcommission.net com org biz info
    rivrazor..
    livingrazor…
    missionrazor….
    razormission…..

I was just a visitor for a few years and the rivwarehouse is down right now so I can’t get too creative. This sounds like a series I should look up.

I am pretty sure you really like .net stuff but what about razor.fi?

PS I also voted for the first one

Avoid the .coms, go with .net, it sounds more approachable.

i first came to riverview the first week of that series. it was the first church i visited in lansing and i decided that i didn’t need to look around. i’m very excited that you’re doing a book on this!

    razorsedgefaith..
    razorsedgelife…
    razorfaith..
    livingfaith..
    faithsedge…
    razfaith…
    or I like razoredge.net

  9. T Says:

Those are good options, but yeah - why not razoredgefaith?

    (or owicutmyfeet.net ;) )

  10. Ben J. Says:

I agree w/ Jen. razorfaith.com is the way to go

  11. Joel Says:

You know “The Razor’s Edge” was a weird Buddhist/existential movie in the 80’s with Bill Murray, right?

Depending on what you’re planning on naming the book, I’d suggest razoredgefaith.net. Unless you think that’s too long.

Otherwise, you need to come up with something where you can make a word out of the domain name extension, like del.icio.us does. Like razoredge.fai.th. Except then everyone would think your site was based in Thailand.

  12. epaga Says:

    razorfaith.net (i like .net endings)

    Faith is a good word.

Or you could get all buzz-wordy and do

    emergingmissionalrazor.com

  13. Hans Says:

    How about

    WALKTHERAZOR.COM
    or
    WALKTHERAZORSEDGE.COM

    Both are available.

  14. jgowell Says:

I voted for razoredge.net, but I think it is better with an “s” in the middle (RAZORSEDGE.NET)

I also like Hans’ last two (WALKTHERAZOR.COM or WALKTHERAZORSEDGE.COM)
    as well as
    “ONRAZORSEDGE.NET”
