Blog Name
The Dawn Patrol

Blog Author
Dawn Eden. From her bio:

I used to work in the New York City newspaper world, as deputy news editor at the New York Daily News and, before that, a copy editor for the New York Post (one of my Post headlines won the 2004 New York State Associated Press Award). I left the Daily News in June 2007 to become the first director of the Cardinal Newman Society’s Love and Responsibility Program, a multipronged effort to reestablish chastity as the cornerstone of Catholic campus culture.

What is this blog about?
Dawn is the author of the book

“The Thrill of the Chaste: Finding Fulfillment While Keeping Your Clothes On” (Dawn Eden)

Her site goes along nicely with the book (I would guess…I haven’t read it yet). Basically, she is a prolife, prochastity advocate and author.

Why do I read it?
Dawn is very articulate and intelligent and I like her strong stance on issues not many people are taking a stand on, particularly chastity. She portrays abstinence as an intelligent and attractive option, while many others paint it as prudish.

Hey that’s a really cool link - thanks. Although I don’t know what to do with half of this stuff. It wears me out so much to live surrounded by a culture that believes this stuff to its core and try to be different all the time while trying to see the good in everyone else. Most of the time I would just rather not talk about politics and issues because it’s so difficult. Then I think about what if I ever have kids… and these stories make me think that there’s no hope for them unless I homeschool. Sheesh. Do you think that her comments about planned parenthood are a little blown out of proportion? She comes across so strongly that it sounds like everyone working at PP is a diabolical, aweful, scheming, evil person who is subversively and outright attacking my children. Are they all in fact very evil people? Is it in fact an evil or even satanic organization? What’s your take?

Yo hay’k. Dawn was interviewed in the previous issue of Relevant Mag. She’s pretty cool.
