More Shine by Si*Se

It’s kinda against my nature, but I like Saturdays because on Saturdays, I am largely alone.

As an extrovert, it’s weird that I like Saturdays for that reason, but I really do.

On Saturdays, I get up whenever I feel like it (or when my kids get me up whichever comes first). I eat breakfast with the little munchkins, get ready and then I head over to the church.

The rest of the week, this place is buzzing with activity. It’s great for someone like me, because I get recharged by people (most people…but that’s a different post). The problem is there is nowhere to hide and when I have to really focus on a task like my message, it can be quite difficult.

That’s why I like Saturdays.

I pray.

I read.

I blog.

I practice my message and re-write it a couple times.

And I do it all alone.

Then midafternoon people start coming in to get ready for the services. The aloneness slowly drifts away into the chaos which is a weekend at Riverview. And I like that. too. As an extrovert, that’s the perfect ending to a day of being alone.

Brett took some great pictures at the IJM concert last night. You can check them all out here. BTW, We raised enough money last night to free and rehabilitate a sex worker and a bonded laborer. Cool stuff.

Daily Jeezit Podcast: International Justice Mission

Tonight, we had an amazing concert at Riverview in support of International Justice Mission. As part of the concert, I had the opportunity to video chat with Marianne Skelly (a Riverview person who serves with IJM in southeast asia).

In this episode, I play that interview for you.

If you want to find out more you can go to any of these links:

Eruption by Van Halen

Just watched an amazing video on Protest4.com. Just yesterday someone asked me if the slavery issue (specifically sex slave trade) was an issue in the United States. This video answers that question.

If you want to know more about this and other issues regarding oppression around the world, come out this Friday at 7:30pm to Riverview for a benefit concert for International Justice Mission. The tickets cost $10 and The Difficulty (from Riverview) and The Violet Burning will be in concert along with a band from New Life Church in Ann Arbor. Featured during that night will be a video chat between myself and Marianne Skelly, someone from our church who works with IJM in Southeast Asia.

Flash Player Help

OK, so when I migrated the Daily Jeezit Podcast back into my family of sites, I had to change the embedable flash player. Unfortunately, the one I am now using (ODEO) sucks big time. It rarely if every updates.

Does anyone here have any experience with any embedable players that will read my RSS feed and play my podcast on people’s sites and MySpace pages?

It would be even sweeter if there was a Flash guru out there would would like to write one for me that was customized for my site. If you want to do that, let me know and I will get you Jeezit graphics you can use.

Anyone?
