Distracted Driver

So Grace and I were watching this MSNBC special this week about distracted drivers. What they found was that many drivers who are distracted by everything from conversation to phones to (get this) “thinking about stuff” (they tested this by having them do math problems in their head) are just as bad as drivers as those who are drunk or super tired.
Driving around today, I realized I am a distracted driver. And it’s not my iPod or my phone or my CD player or my notebook I write stuff in or parts of my body that need scratching. It’s the clouds. The purty fluffy clouds. You see, I have a sunroof in my car and can’t stop looking at the clouds. Especially with the crazy weather patterns we have been having.
Today I watched clouds that were sitting still as others raced by. That’s when I almost ran off the road.
Then I saw clouds racing past each other in weird diagonal patterns. That’s when I almost hit the school bus.
Then I realized how far away the blue sky looked compared to the clouds, which seemed like they were right above my head. That’s when I almost rear-ended an old lady.
Dang those clouds. Maybe I should sell my car.
