Purpose Driven

What do you guys think of this article? This paragraph jumped out at me:

There is a lot out there when you search for Rick Warren or The Purpose Driven Life on the internet. The book, and its “40 days of purpose” church campaign, is the hottest trend in Evangelicalism today. Russell Moore over at the Henry Institute recognizes that Evangelicals don’t care about influential theological issues (like open-theism), and find their convictions well articulated by writers like Tim Lahaye, Bruce Wilkinson, and Rick Warren. This, of course, has roused the ire of many other Evangelicals not fond of the mainstream. (Emphasis Noel’s)

Another follow-up read would be Russel Moore’s at his blog.

Evangelicals - of the church-based variety - are from such a broad range of theological perspectives that we tend to cluster around missional, purpose-oriented, or strategic ideas and initiatives, rather than debate theological differences. This seems very freeing from a certain vantage point, but in the long run falls apart. Or so I think, anyhow.
