As I was tucking my kids into bed tonight, Jesse said “I always have bad dreams. Even when I have good dreams, they turn into bad dreams.” He said this in a very matter of fact manner, with little tears in his eyes.

So, I suggested that we all pray. So there we gathered on Jesse’s bed: Me, Jesse, Emma, and Ethan. Emma suggested that we hold hands. Emma began praying for Jesse. When she got done, Ethan (2 yrs old) said “Mah Ur?” which means “My Turn?” I said, “Yes,” and he began to pray.

His eyes were tightly closed and he prayed for 20 seconds or so. I honestly didn’t understand a single word he said except the word “Jesse” a couple times. But it was passionate and real. I was blown away.

That may have been the best prayer I have ever heard. I don’t think Jesse is going to have any bad dreams tonight.
