So it’s like God is

So it’s like God is getting in on the April Fools Day action a tad early. Last week, I was outside working in the yard without my shirt on. (OK, I had my shirt on, but it didn’t seem as cool to say I was working in the yard with my shirt on). Anyhoo, I wake up this morning and my yard looks like this:

So I was watching

So I was watching Mystery Men at the recommendation of Kite. It got me thinking about how the guys Jesus picked to have around him had more in common with the Mystery Men than the Justice League. That gives me hope. I find myself bumbling through life like those guys.

Does anyone else out there

Does anyone else out there who watches 24 think Kimberly should just be killed off to put all the viewers out of their misery? Hers is the WEAKEST storyline. Yikes. Time to go, sweetpea.

So today I was lamenting

So today I was lamenting the lack of a good Mac browser. Netscape blows and IE is years old (w/o an update) and has to be reinstalled all the time just to work. Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear? Apple Safari! This new browser by Apple rocks! Even in it’s beta testing mode it kicks everyone’s butts! It is super fast when opening even graphics intensive pages. It’s interface is very user friendly. Yee Ha! This almost makes up for the fact that my computers still won’t sync with each other. Almost.

No way! DC Comics

No way! DC Comics has actually made Aquaman look cool. Not only that, but the first issue of his new comic book sold out of stores! If you are big enough of a nerd to care, you can download a PDF copy free here.

C. I. Scofield: Christ’s relation

C. I. Scofield:
Christ’s relation to the law of Moses may be thus summarized:

  1. Christ was made under the law.
  2. He lived in perfect obedience to the law.
  3. He was a minister of the law to the Jews, clearing it from rabbinical sophistries, enforcing it upon those who professed to obey it, but confirming the promises made to the fathers under the Mosaic Covenant.
  4. He fulfilled the types of the law by His holy life and sacrificial death.
  5. He bore, vicariously, the curse of the law that the Abrahamic Covenant might profit all who believe.
  6. He brought out, by His redemptive work, all who believe–from the place of servants under the law to the place of sons.
  7. He mediated by His blood the New Covenant of assurance and grace in which all believers stand, so establishing the "law of Christ" with its precepts of righteous living made possible by the indwelling Spirit.

It has been a week

It has been a week or so since I have been steeped in my “Jesus Study.” It was cool to get back into it today. Here are the latest things I have come across in the Bible about Jesus:

  • He lives in us.
  • Our spirit is alive because He has made us right with God.
  • If we are going to share in His glory, we must share in His suffering. (Crap)
  • He died for us.
  • He was raised to life for us.
  • He is seated in the place of highest honor next to God.
  • Overwhelming victory is ours through Him.
  • God has revealed His love for us through Him.
  • He has accomplished the whole purpose of the law.
  • All who believe in Him are made right with God.
  • He has been sacrificed for us.
  • We have been made right with God through Him.
  • Our bodies are parts of His body.
  • Because He has set us free, we are now His slaves.
  • God made the whole world through Him.
  • We have been given life through Him.
  • We sin against Him when we sin against other Christians.

I have been enjoying reading

I have been enjoying reading Kevin Sites’ blog from Iraq for the last week or so. Unfortunately “The Man” seems to have shut him down. Bummer.

If you know me, you

If you know me, you know I love my Macs. But today they are making me mad. I upgraded my os with a teeny little patch. No big deal, right? Wrong! Now my machines don’t like each other or my Palm. They are all rejecting each other. A visit to the apple tech site tells me this is a common problem! AAARRGGGGHHH! I do believe that this must be the problem.

I am a Base-defender.

What’s mine is mine, and I make sure everyone knows it. Nobody invades my space without permission - I’d destroy everything I own before letting someone take it from me. I tend to be forward-facing, which is both a strength and a weakness. What 80’s Video Game Character Are You?

As many of you

As many of you know, I am a huge 24 fan. I just stumbled onto this article about the show and my mom always told me it was nice to share.

You are StrongBad. You hate everyone, especially HomeStar. Your e-mails and prank calls are
hilarious. You’re my favorite character. You try to be evil, but sorry, being shirtless with boxing gloves just isn’t scary. Don’t worry what everone else thinks because hey, they are all "crap for brains".

I’ve been thinking a lot

I’ve been thinking a lot today about the impending war in Iraq. I have found myself to be relatively torn over this issue. On one hand, I resonate with Martin Niemoeller, who when reflecting on the atrocities of Adolf Hitler, wrote:

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out–
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me–
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

And then I think of the pain and sorrow of war. I find myself teetering between these two thoughts.

But today I was reminded that the Bible says the king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases. (Proverbs 21:1 NIV) I am relieved to know that God knows the plans that are being made, not just by President Bush and Saddam Hussein, but by every leader of every nation on the face of the earth.

BTW, here is one of the better articles I have read on this issue.

So this is weird. I

So this is weird. I post my audblog while I am downloading the message Kite gave at Bob tonight. Then I listen to his message. It is so tight! It matches my audblog thoughts exactly. I gotta tell you, it’s cool to see God work weird stuff like this together! You can hear Aaron’s message here.
